SEQUENTIAL CIRCUITS  PRO-ONE USA 1980



One of the great american synthesizers, together with the Minimoog and ARP odyssey. It is a 2 VCO analog monophonic synth with an arpeggiator and a small trig-able sequencer that can hold 2 different patterns. The Pro-One can make some very nice sounds, especially squilchy electro basses...actually you could consider this one of the great classic electro synths as it was used by a lot of legendary electro producers/bands such as Cybotron, Model 500, AUX 88, Arthur Baker, Vince Clarke, Depeche Mode etc.etc.etc.

It is quite a fragile, cheaply made, synthesizer but as there isn't much inside (it is surprisingly lightweight) it is relatively easy to repair.
This one broke down a couple of times, and most of the time it was just a little wire that got loose.

Inside we can find the CEM3320 Voltage Controlled Filter Chip (Which we can also find in the Prophet 5, Elka Synthex, Oberheim OB8, Expander, OBXA, PPG Wave and a lot of other synthesizers)
For the VCO it uses the CEM3340 (which we can also find in the Prophet 5, 600, Moog Memorymoog, Big Oberheims, Roland SH101, MC202, Jupiter 6, some MKS80's etc.etc.etc.)

Extra bonus points for it looks, like with the Prophet 600 and a lot of other Sequential products...you can't go wrong with wooden sides and Irish 'decal' lettering.
