KORG POLY 800
Japan
1983-1986
A
cheap analog synthesizer mass produced in the 80s. Cool things: Chord
memory, Step sequencer (that can be synced with MIDI), Joystick for
pitch bend, filter cut off and volume modulation, a muddy fat chorus
effect,
portable and lightweight. One of the first affordable polyphonic
synthesizers, often laughed and frowned upon but it is capable of some
very juicy analog sounds.
MP3 of
a raunchy italo baseline (Mirage women style) from the Poly 800
The Poly 800 was used heavily in Legowelt's beyond the Congo &
Tower of the Gipsy albums.
